Making Arrangements

Something about that phrase brings to mind funerals and obligations. It was one of the first thoughts that popped into my head yesterday as I recalled shooting the picture above the night before last. Blurry, as was I, but I just don't have the hang of this camera phone at all. Great pictures outside in bright daylight, but not so good otherwise.

Strip-ity, Stripe-ity

Yeah, I know the title is nonsense, but give me a break. I've been hopped up on Tylenol Cold - non-drowsy formula, for 4 days now, and I'm feeling a little dopey, a lot of speedy.

I've been in bed all day, surrounded by process maps and my computer, trying to make sense of it all. Who ever said there was no creativity in my day job? Anyways, at one point, I threw it all down and noticed the cool shadows undulating across my notebook. Flip, fresh page. Click - share - and here we are. It would have been so much easier if I could get blogger mobile to work, but bleh - I'm sick of fooling with it.

I think it's time for another dose of Tylenol. Hooray!

The sunshine is back

I'm feeling better already. The rain had me down, but was good for productivity. Now if I can just get my long days back, I'll be in good shape.

Ghost Town

Carousel, Florence, Italy

Yesterday morning the sky was gray - huge, puffy gray clouds provided a few variances in the shade of gray. I had to stop for gas and there was an eerie quiet for a few minutes - which is odd considering the gas station is on a busy street, and I was there during rush hour.

Another one of those surreal, slo-mo moments.

gray

Blue skies have come and gone, but they were here long enough for a good walk on the trail this morning with de Milo. Not much to report this weekend, except that I've almost made it through the October trip photos, editing, editing, editing.

Rain, rain, stay a day

Venice, where I wished I had galoshes

It's a rainy, gray day. Storms have moved in and winds have howled all night long for two nights now. It sounds like there's a waterfall in the breezeway. Some people pay good money for the soothing sound of a waterfall.

But I don't mind - today gives me an excuse to wear my galoshes! And my red raincoat.

Happy Friday!

Slowly reworking the portfolio

The portfolio section is slowly getting updated with some new work. It's about time, huh? Ba-by steps...

Click on that portfolio link above to go there - the one in the menu bar -- next to that shop link that's been coming soon for a year...

Wind Up Toys

I love old tin toys - so my morning was made by seeing this new bug this morning with a fake wind-up key on the back. I stayed behind her as long as I could because the living pop art tickled me.

Happy Hump Day!

the Dutch don't like us

Heineken, I've learned, is much better in other countries. I'm not sure what they do to it here, but I won't drink it. However, in Dubai and Europe, it's not a bad beer -- not my first choice, but drinkable.

So I wonder, what did we ever do to the Dutch?

Flying Chipmunks, Wedding Planning and Football Stadiums

I've had crazy dreams lately. I haven't had a chance to write about them, but I will soon. And at some point, let's just say next year since I know aiming for anything this year is a joke, there will be a series of paintings based on my wacky, tacky dreams.

So instead of staying in my sleep-depraived state of mind, I'm going to post a photo from Carmel (oh Carmel, you were so long ago...) and pretend that I'm in that state of mind.

Happy Monday!

Happy Day

It's a sunshiny morning, both outside and inside my head. I have a new job, I've given notice at the old one, I have a dog sitter, and dates are getting close to finalized for the honeymoon. It's like those t-shirts say, Life is Good!
